Return on Relationships
What if we could give less attention to all the noise, drama and complication and focus on the one thing that drives real happiness?
I read about a study completed with a group of 65-year old’s. They asked them what made them happiest in their lives and the answers might surprise you. Their true happiness didn’t stem from money, although money can take away a good amount of stress. Their happiness didn’t come from fame or recognition. Their level of true happiness came from the number of significant relationships they had developed in their lives.
So when things feel complicated, when things aren’t going exactly the way you want them to be in your personal or professional lives, ask yourself if you are putting enough focus on relationships.
I challenge all of you to make it a goal for 2018 to increase you ROR (Return on Relationships); whether it’s a customer, a colleague, your child, or your spouse. Focus on maximizing the return on that relationship to drive the greatest happiness and wealth, both personally and professionally.
All of the success we are searching for will happen when we first focus on the relationships and the people around us day to day. And the bonus is that the ride to the top is a whole lot sweeter with the right people around you.
Don’t wait for January 1st to make the shift. The change can start today, it’s completely in your control. Use the ROR momentum to finish 2017 strong and get a jump on 2018.
Make 2018 the best year ever by focusing on creating and fostering significant relationships!
